Here's something neat you can do if you have a DVD player and no time management skills. In the Seinfeld episode "The Gymnast", all of the characters look at this Magic Eye picture single image random dot stereogram, and say that they see a spaceship. Let's find out if there is one...

Screenshot 1     Screenshot 2

The picture is slightly obscured both times it's shown, and is always at an angle to the camera. So I ran a reverse perspective transformation on the picture frame for each screenshot, and averaged the results. Add in some sharpening (unsharp mask) to help with it not being lined up, and... it actually works!

I can make out a spaceship on the left (the space shuttle?), a ringed planet in the top right corner, and something that looks like a severed tongue below the planet. If there was an image search engine that searched for images similar to images that you upload, perhaps it could find the original.

Next week: that sailboat from Mallrats!

Never been able to see what everyone else sees in these things. D:

(Not in the idiomatic sense, but quite literally!)

Man, i totally thought you were going to transform it into a normal 2D image so those of us with borked eyes could see it.
