C&C 3 is a pure sequel. AFAICT from the prologue mission, they've stayed true to the format and upgraded everything to the current state of technology. There's still lots of cut scenes with human actors (now in high definition), the interface and units are familiar (but with much better graphics). Exciting for me, but I doubt you'll find much in it if you're tired of that format.
I picked up my copy of Jade Empire at my local Gamestop. First impression is that its KOTOR with some sort of pseudo timer based fighting system rather then electronic dice (or as I like to think of them: iDice). The install took 20 minutes...no idea why but thats how long it took.
