So, something in S2 land has evidently changed recently:

Screenshot of a very broken entry

(Default values nitpick: why does the subject line have a space, but not the hyperlink?)

The text isn't hidden in some table somewhere, it's just missing. I should look at a diff between the current generator and my version, but I don't feel like it right now. So stop making voice posts :P

I did rewrite my acronymfinder-scraping wtf script today using python and Beautiful Soup (it was perl and a couple of regexes before). Beautiful Soup was okay, but ultimately did not make my script any easier to write or more robust against change. I have to find the table heading and then iterate through all the next rows until they don't have enough columns anymore. I was kind of hoping to be able to ask for an entire column of "Rank" and an entire column of "Definition". And because it doesn't know what tags are unimportant, I have to match match tags like <strong> that happen to precede the text I want.

% wtf is lerp
     ***** Linear Interpolation
       *** Local Emergency Response Plan
         * Low End Reference Platform
         * Lyari Expressway Rehabilitation Project (Karachi, Pakistan)
% wtf is lirp
I don't know! If anyone needs me, I'll be in the angrydome!

As an untrusted user (all users but system are untrusted), you can't use S2's print function to print protected HTML. VoicePosts now have protected HTML in them (inline flash player), which you're trying to print. You need to use the system-owned $entry->print_text() function, rather than doing it yourself with print $entry.text.

Here's a FAQ with pretty colors:

We're going to be changing this, though, from a Flash object to a magic div (which you can print out), then using some onload javascript to find/replace all the magic divs with the flash. But we haven't got there yet.
