Things not to do when one has a looming project deadline:
  • Start playng Final Fantasy VII for the first time ever.
At least now I know where that Red XIII userpic comes from.

I did see some of those patches, but I didn't install them because I had enough trouble finding the right patch to just make it work.

I just installed a nice high-res (1280x960) patch which also fixes antialiasing... mostly.

People weren't kidding about the size of this game. It took me six hours just to get to the world map! :O

the downside to the PC version is getting the crappy MIDI version of the soundtrack. Once you've played the game, please get ahold of some MP3s and enjoy.

Just play it on a PS1 / PS2 for all it's glory. FF VII deserves this much at least.
