I beat Warrior Within
today. I'd be gushing about how great it was if I didn't have the first one to compare it to. This one was considerably faster paced. The traps and the puzzles were lots of fun, but there was too much combat in between. I wish I did what kartos
did and played on easy instead of normal. I stand by my earlier statement that the new combat system is better than the old one, though.
Got another 512M to finally boost parabellum up to 1G of memory. Vampire: Bloodlines
no longer stutters because of thrashing, but the framerate still sucks. This is the game's fault; HL2 never dipped down into the 10s of frames per second.
I finished reading the second of Neal Stephenson's long winded old timey trilogy. It was far more enjoyable than the first book, especially towards the second half. So, I'm glad I stuck with it. Now I'm reading some random fantasy book that came highly recommended from Scott.. looking up the title.. A Game of Thrones
. I haven't really read anything in this genre since I was much younger. One thing I noticed right off is that the characters are so.. fantastical. Each one like a caricature of a single emotion. But it should be a good break before I start on yet another huge Neal Stephenson book.
Last class of the semester is tomorrow. Too bad I have to put more words onto pages for it. But I've already exceeded my quota complaining about that.
