It shows the booting up screen for about 40 seconds, before it blanks and starts again.
I'm not sure, how can you tell? The only thing on the screen is the Verizon logo.
The logo appears as soon as I power on the phone. Normally, it would stay on the screen until the phone booted, and it would switch to the "desktop" screen. Instead, the logo just hangs there for a while, and then reboots.
mine does that a lot of times when it is searching for service.
Weird. I'll try taking it around outside and see if I can get it to boot.
could try pulling the battery, but i think it loses some of your settings that way..
I already tried pulling the battery. When I put it back in and power on, it goes back into the reboot cycle.
it doesn't feel like you're on rails (like the other high profile 3d shooter that came out this year ;)
Metroid Prime 2?
(hooray for the quote button)
I was thinking of DOOM 3, which is a game where you have to follow the same path through the same corridors every time you play.
I haven't played Metroid Prime 2 yet, but I heard it was pretty much like the first one. So I would think it's illusion of non-linearity is just as good.
I was sort of trying to be facetious, but it didn't work. I just got Metroid Prime 2, so I'm sure you'll be hearing about it in my journal pretty soon.
I think DOOM 3 can excuse itself for being linear most of the time because its attempting to be some sort of horror ride. At the same time there's a lot of times where its just 'creatures teleport in', 'kill creatures', 'go to the next room', 'repeat'.
I'm glad to hear HL2 has lived up to your expectations. So many games to get and no money!
Ha! I knew you would bring up a Nintendo game. That reminds me, I need to finish Metroid:Prime. I think I'm close to finishing, I'm on the Giant Pirate Boss (I forget his official designation).
I still have to beat HL 1. Im on the alien world, so I shall be doing that before getting HL2. Did you have any trouble with registration, it sounded to be horrendous.
I didn't, but my roommate did. I bought the game over Steam, downloaded it, and unlocked it on the 16th smoothly. He bought the box version, and had trouble registering his CD key until late at night.
What game ISN'T linear?
Or: What game with a story isn't linear?
I can't think of any. Even GTA3 and whatnot is a Linear game.
There is no way to advance a story without going in a line. :P
I agree. At least, there's no way to do it *yet* :D I do think it's worth the effort to make the player feel like he's choosing where to go, even if it's the only path. HL2 does this a lot through excellent level design.
