So, I forced Windows to use the Adaptec drivers on the disk controller on parabellum (it was using the built-in HPT37x drivers), and my speed went from 22MB/s to 49MB/s. Good job, Windows. I've only been suffering through that for the last couple hundred days.
I did Tribes: Vengeance this weekend. I've never played any of the earlier games, but I liked the single player on this. There were a couple missions that were exceptionally frustrating (I spent almost 3 hours trying to defend a certain base), but overall it was fun.
I have Sims 2 to entertain myself until I get my Warrior Within. And also Metroid Prime. I got to what I assume is the last level in that game, and kinda lost interest. I really should finish that up. At least so I could put my Ikaruga disc back in the cube.
Two exams last week, marketing and graphics. Two exams this week, operating systems and planetary geology.
The only class I've gone to every lecture for is planetary geology. If I were very cynical, I might say this is because there is no book, so the exams are 100% lecture based. Otherwise, I'd say it's because I am a complete neophyte in geology, so I'm not getting hit by diminishing returns like I am in comp sci and business.
I have been kinda uneasy lately, since I'm failing pretty hard at establishing a real presence in meatspace. Not today though. I mean about feeling uneasy. I probably just needed some sleep. That is my throwaway answer for a lot of my problems.
And now, here is
an image I found on friendsfriends:
..well, I was entertained anyway.
