I've been busy this weekend. I got civ3 conquests on Friday, which is way too much fun. It's like civ three and a half, there's so much more new stuff. And today, I went and bought some new shorts because mine are pretty old and falling apart. But yesterday...

I bought a 21" LCD flat panel. With some difficulty. My dad and I went to Delaware where there are at least 3 stores: CompUSA, Best Buy , and Circuit City. Now, I'd been eying the 213T ever since I'd heard about it, but I wanted to see one in real life. So, we got up early and went to CompUSA first. Of course, they had blown the circuit that powered their LCD monitors. The salesman told me what I really wanted was a Sony. So, we went to Circuit City next.

Their display model actually worked, and I played around with it. That was all the convincing I needed. But I figured we should stop by Best Buy just in case they had a better price or a sale. They didn't, but since we were there, we bought it from Best Buy. It was the last one left. Drive home, excited, move the old CRT monitor out of the way, put the old LCD monitor in its place, open the box...

WTF is this?! In the box is a 17" Samsung flat panel display. Wait... okay. Drive back, return it. The guy seems to thing the manufacturer put the wrong monitor in the box. That's really likely. I bet the manufacturer opened the documentation, too :P No, we wouldn't like to wait a week for you to order a new one. Refund. Back to Circuit City. Try again. Drive back. Open the box... oh yeah... it shouldn't have taken 3 hours to do this, but it's okay. This monitor looked big in the store, but on my desk it looks absolutely gargantuan.

So yeah, I've been playing civ3 and watching Red Dwarf on this thing mostly. I expect it should also rule the next time I have to write code, since the last time I used 1600x1200 was on a much smaller CRT :)

Your monitor is bigger than my television. (In terms of screen size, anyway.)

Yes, they're too expensive. I was actually looking at getting a 16:9 aspect monitor initially, but they're twice as much!
