I woke up this morning to find out that I was accepted into *every* business class I was holdfiled for. Awesome. I selected finance, which had its first class today. Also, now I actually have a finalized schedule:

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
10:00 Physics Physics Physics Physics
11:00 Philosophy Lecture Computer Vision Philosophy Lecture Computer Vision Finance Discussion
1:00 Philosophy Discussion
2:00 Semantic Web Semantic Web
3:30 Finance Lecture Finance Lecture

More first impressions of classes: Philosophy looks... interesting. It's taught by this guy who is like a living caricature of a college professor. He doesn't use a microphone.. need to sit up front. The semantic web thing looks awesome. I think we're going to be doing some good work in there. Finance seemed pretty boring, but I think I'll learn a lot from it.

Hey, orkut is back up. If I whore it on my LJ again, will it go down again? :P

Yeah. I ran all the errands I could today, and I still had an hour to kill. I'll probably just end up coming back to the apartment and watching the history channel, like I did last semester.

The friday classes are discussion sections. The lectures are big, so they split into smaller sized classes for assigning homework, asking questions, etc. Those classes can't all meet on the same time, so they're just all over the place.

What do you do in semantic web? And is computer vision what it sounds like it is?

I'm not really sure what we'll be doing in semantic web. The professor made it sound cutting-edge and awesome, whatever it is.

Computer vision is pretty much what it sounds like: programming computers to understand digital images. Also awesome.
