I'm now running Linux kernel 2.6.0 on my workstation. Moved over a lot more smoothly than my laptop (neofb makes it crash :P) The only problem I had was that for some reason, the mouse stuff was changed around. (I have a Logitech MX500.) I had to modify my XF86Config to use the ExplorerPS/2 driver instead of the MouseManPlusPS/2 driver in order to get both the mouse wheel and thumb buttons to work. Update: Dammit! The mouse wheel and the thumb buttons work, but the extra scroll buttons seem to toggle other buttons in addition to scrolling. Hopefully, I can fix this later. Also, this worried me a little. When initializing my scsi hardware: qla1280: QLA12160 found on PCI bus 0, dev 9 scsi(0): Reading NVRAM MCE: The hardware reports a non fatal, correctable incident occurred on CPU 0. Bank 0: c46cc00000000833But that was probably happening in 2.4, and I just didn't have MCE turned on. I still haven't got my CPU temperature sensors working, but they're crazy anyway, and I don't feel like it now. I don't see the famed speed increase, which I'm chalking up to my configuring this system so well in the first place :P Overall, a pretty smooth upgrade. I'm not so hopeful for moving bender and procyon to OpenBSD 3.4. |
