Okay, so now that I've invested way too much time in playing it, here's what I have to say about Deus Ex: Invisible War.

IF you can get over the fact that it's not exactly bug-free, and
IF you liked the first game so much that you often recite the storyline to your friends for fun...
THEN you will think this game is TEH AWESOEM!!!

I had to install the game twice and reboot more times before I could get past the opening movie. It still occasionally crashes between loading levels (which it does a LOT), and sometimes crashes just when you click on objects to use them. It's also too slow to run at 1280x1024 on my overclocked Radeon 9800 pro. Also, all the issues with the display and mouse from the demo are still there, but those are already easy to resolve by modifying an INI file.

The part where you do all the stuff in the game is great, though. The stealth is actually fun. There are lots of places to hide, tons of ventilation shafts to crawl through, and cloaking!

The gameplay is noticeably dumbed down simplified from the original. Universal ammo. No numbers on anything (e.g. health, ammo, damage) except how many of a stackable item you have. This is especially visible coming off of KOTOR, where you have way more numbers than you'll ever need. There are no more lockpicks, only multitools. But the fact is, that after a few hours, I really didn't miss that stuff.

The story is that engrossing. Completing the original Deus Ex game... several times... should be a prerequisite for this. I'm not going to write any spoilers (aiee!), but you need to be familiar with the story and the characters from the first game to get the full effect of this one.

Anyway, I'm totally into this game, and I'm pretty sure I'm not being paid to say that.
