“Okay, so... remember when I said I wouldn't use this again? I lied. Um... I woke up... kinda early... 8:30, which is actually the latest I've gotten up lately, or at least the most sleep... I wanted to catch up on sleep today, but unfortunately they're doing some type of room inspections...this morning... wasting my precious available time for sleep, but that's okay because I really ought to be doing...work. I have... accounting assignments due at twelve, I have a human resource management quiz at one, I have this evil hyper project mega evil project due on Monday, and it's not even close to done, and I have to work with this group on it, but that's good because the group is probably working on it right now actually, ha-ha. And I have a big 15-minute presentation on [unintelligible] security on Tuesday, and I need to make PowerPoints for it, and I just got PowerPoint. I pirated it! I would've used OpenOffice, which is what I usually use when I gotta work with...Microsoft stuff, but I don't trust its PowerPoint saving abilities, because usually when I open PowerPoints in it, they look wrong, and I don't want it to look wrong on my big presentation because I know I'll lose points because I know they won't understand that I'm trying to just use PowerPoint, you know, OpenOffice, whatever, for... ideological open-source purposes. But at...least...at least you're listening to this in Ogg, Ogg Vorbis, speaking of ideological open source purposes. Can't go wrong with, uh, patent-free codec technology. Really pisses me off, all the...all the crap you have to go through just to deal with, uh, video, especially video, but ESPECIALLY audio, but ESPECIALLY video. I think you--I think you can actually get me to talk in the mornings because my brain isn't working yet, and it isn't telling me to stop talking 'cause you sound like an idiot. So I'll just keep going and going and going, not listening to the words that are coming out of my mouth. [unintelligible] especially when I wake up. I've been awake for an hour, but I'm not really UP yet. What do you DO in the morning, anyway? Oh, right, work, work. Got that--I've got that up, I've got it opened in a window on my third virtual desktop. That's usually where my work stays. Not my third virtual desktop, I just mean open in a window, and... you know, usually on a different desktop. Maybe when I--look at my screenshots, I'll see it. I probably should've timed this, so that I know when my minutes will run out. I think I'll just end it now. Okay. End transmission.”

openoffice -> powerpoint usually works pretty well since the openoffice presentations are generally pretty simple.. powerpoint -> oo doesn't always work that good since presentations made with powerpoint aren't usually that simple.

Ugh. Video compatibility is horrible. Everyone uses their own codec, so getting anything to work sucks.

Why can't everyone just like, use DivX or something?

Then again, with audio, why can't everyone just use ogg and mp3? Why do we need wmv and aac and so on?

Because xvid is superior ;) Anyway, all of the mpeg-4 based codecs should be paying the mpeg license fee or something. It sucks. I can't wait to see how the new Ogg video codec will stand up to the mpeg-4 based ones.

"We" need wma and aac so that we can only use the audio we buy for $COMPANY-approved purposes :P
