I haven't recorded anything off TV in a while, so my setup was in shambles. I can't use huffyuv because of disk space and the whole 2GB AVI thing. And if I use MJPEG Quicktime, I can't watch it while it's recording. So I've started to hack streamer to show the picture as it records.
I did write some Xvideo code in late 2001 or early 2002. Back when TNN first started playing Star Trek TNG, they squashed it so that picard's head was the wrong shape. I got as far as taking a test image, and unsquashing it in the video hardware before TNN realized the error of their ways and just cut off the bottom of the screen instead. (Now they've totally rebranded and don't have anything on the bottom, but I'm going off topic) Doing moving pictures seems to be more difficult, though. I keep getting some kind of bad segment error or something. X is weird.
I formally started writing the plot for spacegame today. A bunch of it has been in my head for a while, but it needs to all be in one place. I'm not doing the dialog, just who does what, and when. This makes me happy. Sometimes I forget why I have a pet project.
I need to rewrite my LJ userinfo, but I can't think of anything to say.
Agh, it's late!
