I swapped out my NVidia Ti4200 for my Matrox G450, because the 4200's fan seems to have stopped running. Watching that card overheat was not fun. I was in console mode, and letters and colors would occasionally change (video memory corruption!), then different characters of the font would start flickering.

At least I can still use TwinView DualHead to use both of my monitors. Of course, direct rendering doesn't work and only one head can actually use Xvideo for hardware video scaling. This is why I left Matrox. Uh, and because their "new" card is slow and has even worse linux drivers.

I will say that it does a much better job than the NVidia in driving my CRT. I'd forgotten that my Nokia 446Xpro can have such a clear picture before I put that matrox card in again.
