I have motivation problems with homework. This afternoon, I decided that instead of doing my algorithms homework, I should learn Verilog so I can make my own microprocessors! I mean /anything/ becomes infinitely interesting when faced with a sheet of problems that I will gain nothing by doing.

(For reference, I compiled and installed iverilog and got up to "hello world" before I realized that I was not making good use of my time)

Also, remember how every "Submit" button on the web is part of a subliminal campaign to make you obey your illuminati masters? Here's one of the debug messages my new favorite tv program spits out every time:

WARNING[tvtime]: check_for_EWMH: property does not exist

Property does not exist, comrade! All is owned by the People!

...Well, it seemed obvious to me.

I'm risking DMCA action here, but for future reference here is a software fix for macrovision in the bttv linux drivers:
I've found that the bdelay (Burst Delay) value for NTSC in drivers/media/video/bttv-driver.c (line 490 in 2.4.18, line 502 in 2.4.19) causes horizontal pink interference lines due to Macrovision with the current value of 0x5d (93). If the value is changed to 0x69 (105) those annoying Macrovision lines disappear!
So now that I've postponed my algorithms homework to tomorrow morning, time to get back to where I left my B+ Tree on monday...
