I was digging through my old games and found my Jazz Jackrabbit CDs. Jazz 1 didn't run very well under NT -- the scrolling is choppy and the program I got to do SB emulation (Sound FX 2000) seems to need a lot more CPU than I have to work without skipping. Jazz 2 is even more fun than I remembered :)
And that got me thinking about how all the game companies are building these fancy shmancy 3D games, when sidescrollers are so cool! So, I believe I shall create a sidescroller based on my optimal game features
. The main character gets lots of guns and armor, which can be really customized with powerups and stuff. Giant mecha robots, or at least power full body armour is a must. Good art is really important, almost as much as glitzy special effects: lots of them. The music will have to be tracked by an ex-demoscener who still remembers how. Oh, and the voice of the main character? Malcom McDowell, of course. Oh, and maybe some spaceships for good measure.
I can dream, can't I? :)
