At work, sleepy, and kinda hungry.

I ended up getting pissed at palm last night, and thus the mood support STILL isn't done. All the DB code is written, but it doesn't work right. I was so tired of it all that I ctrl-alt-backspaced my X and lost my 48 hours idle time on AIM. Why can't I ever keep AIM open for more than 48 hours? :P

I am planning on playing the Diablo 2 expansion with my brothers tonight. I got my win2k partition working again by running the restore function from the install CD. Now it boots, but it bluescreens all the time. I went through 3 failed diablo installs last night. These installs are >2GB each time, so it's not fun :P

Been looking at LCD screens, because of a recent K5 article. Seems to me, they're still not ready. At least if you want to play games, as I sometimes do. I'm thinking more and more about buying the dual athlon workstation. On spidy's advice, I checked out the tyan MPX board, which can be had for a lot cheaper. I also changed the storage around. All new drives that got good reviews from Tom's Hardware. Still SCSI for the OS because I want the seek times. 240GB 7200 RPM IDE for bulk storage. Still about $1700.

I like this solution anyway, because it will allow me to buy a matrox parhelia to put in my current box, since it would be running windows in the new setup. Unless it gets horrible reviews or something. Fortunately, I won't have the money to do any of this until there are plenty of reviews of that card!

I'm a little worried about Parhelia. They're supposedly shipping in what, a week? And not one single hardware reviewer has seen working silicon.

Can't blame you for going SCSI... the Cheetah X15-36LP's 3.6ms access time is nothing to sneeze at.

Be sure you look for a SCSI card that supports 66mhz PCI.

It's supposed to ship the last day of June, yeah.

I get excited every time I hear matrox talking about it, but the lack of reviews is kinda disconcerting.
