Can't stop thinking about spacegame. Things in the works:
  1. animated textures (shields, explosions)
  2. the ability to make ships explode
  3. cargo, radar, other HUD stuff
  4. comm stuff, dialog selector
  5. sound effects mixing

The engine will be more or less complete then. Which means I need to start walking away from the code and begin thinking about characters, plot, and design. I've known the basic premise of the game for nearly its entire life, but I haven't really figured out where it's going, who you meet. Gonna need to write a lot of dialog too.

So, that's where I am with that. Hoping to at least get animated textures done tonight.

There is also a CMSC250 test, which I will be concentrating on as time gets closer to thursday, and CMSC214 project #4, which I'd like to get over with soon. Probably start on that towards the end of the week.

Not likely. The source will be available if other people want to add that, but I'm not really interested in making a multiplayer game.

#2 is all you really need for any game, space-related or not.

Is spacegame going to be a space conquest-type game (rather than being mostly action-focused)? If so, you might want to check out Escape Velocity, a Macintosh game from Ambrosia. It's pretty cool; you fly around a galaxy and do missions and stuff.

I've heard of that game before, sounds neat.

Mine is like Star Control II, or Solar Winds. Basically, you have a series of problems to solve and objects to acquire, and meet your goals through dialog with other ships, or by blowing them to pieces.

Cool. That's basically what EV is. I remember Solar Winds; that was a fun game.
