Hee hee, Unreal Tournament runs under winex better than it runs natively in linux. And by extension, Deus Ex also runs in linux, now! w00t!

..but when I say 'better', I mean "faster, and the textures are less fucked up", not "faster, and the textures are normal." They're all pixeley; I don't think winex does any filtering at all. Still, it's better than linux ut, which occasionally decides to replace the textures with random colors.

Of course, the flagship product for winex -- The Sims -- doesn't run at all. Safedisc sims tells you to unload the debugger. Unsafedisc sims tells you to get more HD space or memory. Presumably, you have to pay someone for the hax0red version, and I'm not throwing any more money into Sims for a while :P

do you have any ideas where I could find the original sims game online? I got the expansion pack as a present and I borrowed someone else's sims cd to install but then I got a new computer and moved. so I'm stuck with the expansion pack that I can't play. but i have no idea where to look and I don't want to go pay $30 for a game I'm never going to play.

A google search maybe? It'd probably be easier just to find someone with the CD and make a copy of it, and get the crack from gcw.
