Glad you're OK
Damn boy. What college was that again that I shouldn't go to?
University of Maryland. I don't think this is a very common occurance, so I wouldn't rule it out due to tornados :)
Are you and your friends, etc. okay?
I'm fine. But my friends, I don't know. A lot of the dorms have been evacuated, including ones of people who I know.
Tomorrow is going to be a strange day...
TEH UPS SAVES THE DAYY!
Heh, glad to hear that you're OK.
Tornados are a pretty common occurance in western & southern Wisconsin. I've been within about 100 yards of a tornado (the actual funnel cloud), I saw it smash a warehouse, that is serious POWER.
From your pics, most of what you saw was probably shear winds (small tunnels/sheets of air moving at tornado-esque speeds >150mph). Or was there an actual funnel cloud report? Pretty damaging though, anyway! Shear winds took out two of my neighbor's trees earlier this year. Dropped one right on the garage, the other in my mom's flower bed.
A friend of mine that lived in Nebraska had a tornado come STRAIGHT at his house, hit one of his neighbors (all but flattening the house), twist in a semicircle around his house, then smash his other neighbor! His house had some minor damage, and thankfully nobody was hurt (in the other houses, too), but man, is that lucky. The insurance people couldn't believe it.
I don't think I've ever been as close to a tornado before. Scary! There were reports of funnel clouds, but they were probably further away from where I live. Otherwise, I imagine the destruction would have been a lot worse. But this is maryland -- we're not supposed to get tornados! ;)
I told you to stop mocking the wind gods, but you didn't listen...
*big fluffy hugs*
I'm glad yer okay cuz you still have to watch a movie with me :)
