Okay, so my /home drive is mountable, but it's still full of corruption. The xfs_repair dry run logfile is like 7MB. So, new computer parts are on the way from NewEgg! Once I have a new hard drive to dump this filesystem to, I can try the automated repair and see what it does. The damage can't be that bad, since I was actually using the filesystem this morning before it barfed again.

I got a NewEgg preferred account thing, too. No payments for 12 months, followed by life-crushing 22% interest :P I have to remember to update my gnucash file (backed up less than 2 days ago, score!) when I have a desktop machine again.

Jesus, 22% interest is higher than my freaking CREDIT CARD, lol! So you're going to keep using xfs I guess?

That's why these store credit things exist. My "no payments for a year" are subsidized by people who don't pay it off before that runs out :(

I am done with xfs. I'll probably use boring, old, *SAFE* ext3.

OH, so true about the payments thing. And I'd use ext3 if I were you, anyway, if not for just the journaling. :P

You have really bad luck with hard drives and corrupt file systems. It seems like you're buying a hard drive every couple of months.
