Carlsbad! So far, so good. I left on Thursday morning, and my trip was uneventful save for the airport shuttle to PHL. The driver had had this job for nine years, but he looked and talked like a professor. He told us (there was also a woman in the shuttle) about his near-death experience, and his philosophy of living in the moment, and not dwelling on decisions you made in the past. It would have been great if it hadn't been 7:00am. Other than the driver, I met no interesting people in my travels.
The hotel is pretty good. Unlike last time, I have no kitchen. But I do have a microwave and a fridge, and more cable channels. I watched half of a Star Wars marathon on Friday night for free! And the housekeeping service is amazing. I live... kind of messily, but it's all undone every day.
As of Saturday, I'm driving a 2007 Chevy Aveo
sedan. It's a funny little car that reminds you not to go over 55 mph by becoming increasingly difficult to handle the faster you go. The windshield is sloped at a weird angle that makes it hard to find a place to stick my GPS system where I can reach it but it's not in the way.
The Game Slingers office is as I remember it, except that I have a much larger list of stuff to do.
My new laptop arrived the same day I did, and I really, really like it. But that's another post.
