So they've remastered the original Star Trek series and are rebroadcasting it soon. This is great for me, since I haven't seen most of the episodes, and I'm totally okay with making the graphics look better. Rumors on the internets are that some or all of the stations will be presenting it in delicious 4:3 standard definition. If I know my WPSG-DT, they will be in that group. We are lucky to get an entire Veronica Mars without just a little downscaling and cropping! Reruns of Enterprise were always in SD. I have a feeling this is going to be like Battlestar Galactica, where the episodes are filmed in 1080p-24, and the fans never get to see it. I'll be mythtving it on WPSG-DT and desperately scanning alt.binaries.hdtv for it anyway.

Gah, I'm on season 6 of Voyager right now. I thought I would finally be done with Star Trek after this, having consumed every episode ever. Of course I had not even counted on the original series. Looks like I'm still about 60 episodes of trek away from perfection.
