Batteries

I did something stupid a while ago, and didn't find out about it until last night. I've had my laptop plugged into a non-surge protected powerstrip. Both batteries (including the one I bought 2 months ago) are now toast.

My car battery is also toast. At least, that is the conclusion I arrived at because my car will only start with the battery charger hooked up. Fortunately, it is still under warranty, so I took it back to NTB. The guy was mumbling about it looking fine under the tester, and under pressure admitted that it was leaking from the posts. They had no replacements in stock, come back next week.

Whatever, things aren't all bad.

ugh batteries.
my mother's car recently refused to start and it turned out her battery was dead. she had just gotten a new battery. but the guys at the dealership told her it was perfectly normal for a battery less than a year old to die. ouh yeah! sure! hurhurhur

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Mine lasted 15 months... so I guess the 72 printed on the side was just a suggestion! :D

Gah how did you manage to kill both laptop batteries? I mean if lightning hit the lines I could see it.. but then it would have to do it twice.. Or if your power was just really really inconsistent. Do you blow a lot of bulbs at your house?

The other battery goes in the cdrom drive slot, so they were both fried at the same time during some storm.
