This entry jumps around a lot, so I've emphasized the days.
Okay, I'm back on Eastern Daylight Savings for real this time. When I arrived back at my apartment at around 11:30pm on Wednesday
, I had to go right into finishing my final art project. Little sleep was had that night, and then I spent most of the rest of the time asleep. Now it's Saturday.
What happened earlier in the week then? All the airport stuff went pretty smoothly. I *was* caught off guard standing at the end of the security line when everyone started taking their shoes off. And I felt really horrible while the plane was descending because I still had a cold.
I met longtime internet acquaintance and MZXer jzig
, the day I arrived. I've been meeting people over BBSes and the internet for the majority of my life, and that was the first time I'd seen one in person... and it was completely coincidental! He was only there for the Microsoft interview. Funny that I didn't meet any actual residents of the area that I know from LJ, etc. during my trip. I was actually planning to meet up with hkdb
, but I was feeling pretty bad after spending all day talking at Microsoft and I ended up staying in the hotel and sleeping instead.
's advice, I ordered a pizza from Pagliacci's that day and it was good advice :) Besides the great pizza, I was not expecting to speak with an experienced telephone operator while ordering pizza. In all my experience pizza ordering, it's *always* someone working in the kitchen who wants to get you off the phone as soon as possible and can't hear anything you're saying. It was bizarre.
logged, we met at Claim Jumper's on Monday
, which interested me because they don't have any on my side of the country, and they give you way too much food. I have to say that normally, I do pretty well with too much food, but I was not in top form that night what with my cold and jet lag, etc. That is my excuse and I'm sticking with it :P
Time slightly begins to normalize around Friday
after sleeping for 12 hours. I came to realize that MythTV is going to ruin my life. There is an incredible backlog of Star Trek on various hard drives around this apartment. I watched something like 5 hours of it (including the 2 final episodes of Enterprise) yesterday and hardly made a dent.
has been shaping up to approach perfect. I was out in the sun for a while this afternoon, and now it's looking like some thunderstorms are here. Ahhhh...
