Heheh, slashdot linked to this code, which is some cryptic message that somebody wants to send into space. So I made it into an xscreensaver hack :P It's fun to watch, even more fun with more monitors :)

Now I must write a program to translate that into ASCII... MUHAHAHA

(it will no doubt be garbage, but that's part of the fun... or something)

Would it be possible to develop a program that was able to turn that message into a .bmp (or other picture file)?

I'm actually interested in decoding the message possibly. Problem is I don't know how to go from 0's and 1's to pixels.

People have made graphics of the message on the slashdot thread.

Re:

http://sixlegs.com/img/alien-message.png is a png image.

http://www.perlstorm.net/message.gif is a gif.

(This is more for posterity than anything else :P)

But I've noticed that everyone on slashdot is a moron. Too many people have asked why the guys used all those strange symbols (or wondered what they meant)

Bleh.

Is it just me, or does it look uncannily like the original message?
