Oh man, the new wolf3d screenshots blew me away. And it's single-player, too. Hooray for the reemergance of single-player games! If it means graphics like that, I'll swap my G450 for a GeForce 3 any day.

Seriously, I've been very disappointed with my new matrox card. I bought it because I was so pleased with the 2D on my G200, but they've just skimped completely on the linux drivers. When I run dualhead, it breaks the overlay so I can't watch TV. It also reports the wrong aspect ratio, so playing DVDs is horribly distorted. 3D direct rendering gets disabled for BOTH heads in this mode. TV output does not work in linux either (and this has caused me an incredible amount of grief).

Do you have information on a linux port of the new Wolf 3D, or are you still dual-booting Win2K or something?

I don't know, really. id usually does linux ports, but apparently this is being developed by the artists formerly known as xatrix. I still dual boot win2k for games.

Really? How odd. I don't have any of those problems with my dual-head G400. Of course, I've never used dual head in linux and only used it in windows once. I've been really happy with this card though, mostly because of the awsome linux support.

Yep. And I stupidly assumed that all the goodness of the G400 would carry over to the G450.
