NVIDIA Driver Brings PureVideo Features To Linux.

I never thought I'd see the day :O

I wonder if compiz is actually usable with TwinView in the new driver...

Purevideo has been my choice of codex on my windows DVR machine for some time now. I wonder how it stacks up against the more impressive offerings typically used in myth.

It should be much better. Even with my 4 core CPU, I can't play 1080i MPEG-2 video with myth's high quality deinterlacer. I have to use hardware bob deinterlacing.

This was actually my motivation for trying to write a high quality deinterlacer in CUDA: since PureVideo has been around for so long and they never ported it to linux, I assumed it was never coming.
