Wikipedia has been decreasing in usefulness over the last few years as more of its contents are deleted for non-notability, fancruft, etc. Because article deletions should be well-documented, I expect it would be possible to make a synchronized fork of the site, with these articles automatically restored. Call it an "unabridged wikipedia." If deleted and useful sections of existing articles are also easy to identify, perhaps they could be merged back in automatically as well.

The reason I bring it up is that when I need to look up the name of a Katamari cousin, I wouldn't have to go flying into a Stephen Colbert-like rage trying to find an article that my instincts tell me has definitely been written! Anyway. I wouldn't want the hosting bill for it, but it's something I'm curious about.

It's kartos' birthday today! I got her a handmade Opeo doll, no thanks to Wikipedia.

Oh christ, I love how we both were having a fit at Wikipedia at the same goddamn time over the same thing. I noticed someone culled down the pictures and shit on the Avatar information, to the point where they might as well just take down the entire entry since it's utterly useless now. Srsly Wikipedia, it's do or don't. You can't claim to be so awesome yet have this elitist shit going on. Someone is liable to create competition, and I certainly won't be giving wikipedia money, now.

Not automatic, and supposedly intended to compliment instead of compete, but a recent Google for a topic deleted from Wikipedia found me http://wikipediarejects.com/Main_Page
