The wind has been blasting all day here. Something like 4 trees and 44444 branches have fallen, but nothing has hit the house yet. Or even clipped the deck, like last week :P
Both my refurb 7900 GT cards have failed thanks to extended The Witcher
playtimes. The ASUS one is still good enough for 2D, but there are still areas of the framebuffer that can't be set (including some textmode memory!) The Gigabyte card is worse, and I have a feeling they do repairs faster than ASUS, so I'll try that one first.
Unlike my first 7900, I was really careful with these cards. I kept the side of the case open with a 120 mm fan over the PCI slots, and heatsinked the voltage regulators. The temps didn't get high. No good though. It's just the worst graphics card ever made. Eventually they have to send me one that works though, right?
